Mapleton Local Schools Completes Upgrades While Saving Energy
Posted on 11/4/2013
Mapleton Local Schools recently completed an energy conservation project with CCG in both its 108,900 square foot High School/Middle School Complex, and the 60,733 square foot Elementary School, under the guidelines of Ohio School Facilities Commissions House Bill 264. The House Bill 264 legislation allows K-12 schools to borrow money to make improvements towards energy efficiency for buildings and use the cost savings to pay back the loan.
Lighting upgrades were made in the High School, Middle School and Elementary. Additionally, building automation improvements included the upgrade of controls in the High School and Middle School with the installation of Automated Logic’s WebCTRL®, as well as an upgrade of the existing Automated Logic’s WebCTRL® building automation system in the Elementary School.
The program will realize annual savings of $29,900 in electric costs, and $22,529 in gas costs. Annual operational savings are $5,833. Total savings for the project, over the 15-year term, are estimated at $861,795.
