EHOVE Career Center - House Bill 264 Project

Posted on 4/22/2010

EHOVE Career Center partners with CCG to complete an energy conservation project under the guidelines of Ohio School Facilities Commissions House Bill 264 to help make their buildings more energy efficient.  The House Bill 264 legislation allows K-12 schools to borrow money to make improvements towards energy efficiency for buildings and use the cost savings to pay back the loan.

EHOVE will be doing mechanical, building automation, insulation, gas and electric meters, transformer, and lighting upgrades at multiple buildings on their campus.

The total program will realize annual savings of $90,922 in electric costs and $34,726 in gas costs. Total annual energy savings for the project is estimated at $125,648.

Built in 1964, EHOVE (Erie Huron Ottawa Vocational Education) Career Center, serves sixteen school districts in Erie, Huron and Ottawa counties.  EHOVE Career Center endeavors to give high schools students the jump on further education or careers by offering the chance to earn career-tech skills and a number of industry recognized certifications prior to leaving high school.  EHOVE Career Center also offers multiple adult education courses and programs.
