New System Improves Comfort, Takes Efficiency Beyond Expectations

At West Holmes High School, comfort was an issue. Humidity in the building was causing mold to form, and temperature fluctuations made rooms uncomfortable. CCG Automation's control systems remedied the issues and brought operation costs per square foot to a record low.

CCG Automation installed a new temperature control system that improved comfort and dramatically reduced utility costs.

Lesson learned:

You get what you pay for in the low bidding process.

Success Points:

  • Reduced energy costs to $0.85 per square foot

  • Energy consumption reduced to 69,527 BTUs per square foot

  • Projected annual energy savings of $11,674

  • Actual annual energy savings of $26,694

  • Savings exceed projection by $15,020

  • Building is ENERGY STAR Certified with a rating of 78

With this investment in new controls, West Holmes High School will be comfortable and efficient for years. Over the life of the building, the school will save more than $5.58 million in utility costs*.

*Allowing for a 5 percent utility inflation.
