The project addressed several Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) at Cuyahoga Valley Career Center, including:

  • Replacement of light fixtures
  • Building automation upgrades
  • Replacement of drop ceilings
  • Replacement of two HVAC systems
  • Automatic dimming lights
  • Roof-mounted daylighting panels
  • Heating upgrades

Actual First Year Savings

  • 1,688,629 kWh of electricity
    $148,419
  • 6,168 MCF of natural gas
    $69,457

Along with the energy and cost savings for the building, the positive environmental impact of this project extends far beyond this community. Reduced energy use by Cuyahoga Valley Career Center will prevent a significant amount of pollutants from being emitted into the atmosphere each year, including an estimated:

  • 2,499,880 lbs. of carbon dioxide
  • 27,021 lbs. of sulfur dioxide
  • 14,226 lbs. of nitrogen oxide

Combined, these energy savings are equivalent to taking 185.18 cars off the road.
