  • Projected Annual Energy Savings:

The project addressed several Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) at Portage Lakes Career Center, including:

  • Mechanical upgrades that include upgrading the existing boilers to high efficiency condensing boilers.
  • Building Automation upgrades  to tie in the new boilers.
  • Campus-wide interior lighting upgrades and the addition of motion sensors.
  • Exterior lighting from Metal Halide to LED lighting fixtures.

Projected Annual Savings:

  • 1,174 MCF of natural gas
  • Operational savings

Along with the energy and cost savings for the building, the positive environmental impact of this project extends far beyond this community. Projected reduced energy use by Portage Lakes Career Center will prevent a significant amount of pollutants from being emitted into the atmosphere each year, including an estimated:

  • 914,965 lbs. of carbon dioxide
  • 9,891 lbs. of sulfur dioxide
  • 4,785 lbs. of nitrogen oxide

Combined, these projected energy savings are equivalent to taking 67.78 cars off the road.
