House Bill 264
Energy Conservation Program

  • Project Cost:
    $4,072,980
  • Projected Annual Energy Savings:
    $305,919
  • Actual First Year Energy Savings:
    $455,165
  • Savings Exceeded Projection By:
    $149,246

The project addressed several Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) in the High School Complex, Uniontown Elementary, Athletic Complex and Bus Garage including:

  • Mechanical upgrades to improve efficiency.
  • Various Building automation upgrades throughout all the buildings.
  • Lighting upgrades included lamp/ballast upgrades, fixture replacements, and stadium lighting.
  • Electric transformer upgrade.

Actual First Year Savings:

  • 2,394,473 kWh of electricity
    $189,589
  • 22,043 MCF of natural gas
    $265,576
  • Operational savings
    $11,377

Along with the energy and cost savings for the building, the positive environmental impact of this project extends far beyond this community. Reduced energy reductions by Lake Local School District will prevent a significant amount of pollutants from being emitted into the atmosphere each year, including an estimated:

  • 3,546,355 lbs. of carbon dioxide
  • 38,323 lbs. of sulfur dioxide
  • 25,358 lbs. of nitrogen oxide

Combined, these projected energy savings are equivalent to taking 262.69 cars off the road.
