House Bill 264
Energy Conservation Program

  • Project Cost:
    $3,827,612
  • Projected Annual Energy Savings:
    $313,633
  • Actual First Year Energy Savings:
    $315,300
  • Savings Exceeded Projection By:
    $1,667

The project addressed several Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) in eight district buildings including:

  • Heating plant upgrades
  • Water conservation
  • Building automation upgrades
  • Lighting upgrades
  • Window replacements

Actual First Year Savings:

  • 233,631 kWh of electricity
    $89,048
  • 8,545 MCF of natural gas
    $123,840
  • 3,013,877 gallons of water
    $102,412
  • Operational savings
    $19,405

Along with the energy and cost savings for these buildings, the positive environmental impact of this project extends far beyond this community. Reduced energy use by Ashland City Schools will prevent a significant amount of pollutants from being emitted into the atmosphere each year, including an estimated:

  • 351,708 lbs. of carbon dioxide
  • 3,796 lbs. of sulfur dioxide
  • 4,991 lbs. of nitrogen oxide

Combined, these energy savings are equivalent to taking 26.05 cars off the road.
