Enhanced Controls Take Comfort to New Heights

Hudson City Schools' administration was shocked to discover that their high school, occupied in 1992, already had serious comfort issues related to failing equipment. CCG Automation's project included a new building automation system, which has restored comfort to the building, increased energy savings and reduced maintenance complaints.

Lesson learned:

There's no need to sacrifice comfort to save energy. Your building can be comfortable and energy efficient.

Success Points:

  • Reduced energy costs to $0.67 per square foot

  • Energy consumption reduced to 36,625 BTUs per square foot

  • Projected annual energy savings of $8,031

  • Actual annual energy savings of $27,187

  • Saving exceeded projection by $19,156

  • Building is ENERGY STAR Certified with a rating of 92

With its investment in upgraded controls, over the life of the building Hudson City Schools will save more than$5.69 million in utility costs*

*Allowing for a 5 percent utility inflation.
